The  first of two Neighborfest events in Kankakee is all set for Saturday, June 11 at Pioneer Park.  Citizens are invited to share in some fellowship and fun while getting to know your neighbors and city leaders.  Saturday's fun is from 1 - 4 pm at Pioneer Park at 698 N. Hobbie Avenue.  Mark your calendar for another Neighborfest Saturday, June 25 at Jeffers Park from 1 - 4 pm.

Economic & Community Development Agency Director Barbie Brewer-Watson says residents are invited to share in the city's Citizens Advisory Board Neighborfest.  It's an opportunity to connect with neighbors and city officials in the hopes of building good will, friendship and pride for their community.

KIds games, a bounce house, face painting and music is part of the fun.  The Kankakee Fire Department will also be there to talk safety.  Give-aways and other prizes are also included.
