Nettie Davis School Remaining Contents and Relics Auction Saturday April 2 beginning at 10am. Doors will open at 8am for inspection.
The Nettie Davis school building is no longer in use and all of the remaining contents and fixtures are going to be auctioned to raise money for the Unit 9 Academic Foundation to benefit students in the Unit 9 School District.
Some items being sold include desks, tables, chairs, shelving, ceiling fans, light fixtures, kitchen equipment, old wooden doors, a 24’ x 36’ portable building, a 14’x 20’ storage building and chain link fencing. That is just some of what’s available.
“This will truly be a unique event.” Said Unit 9 Academic Foundation Chairman, Brian Chaney “It’s not often that you have the chance to purchase contents of a school and raise money to help fund further academic projects for students. There is a lot of history in there and it’s your opportunity to bid and raise money to help fund Academic projects for students.”
Over the years the Unit 9 Academic Foundation has provided over $700,000 for programs and technology for K-12 students in the district. This year they’ve helped Kindergarten go 1 to 1 with Chromebooks and provided funds for a new outdoor learning space at the high school.
