Kankakee County employees will soon experience a new insurance policy. The County Board (Tuesday) agreed to a switch from Blue Cross-Blue Shield to United Health Care.

It's a cost-savings move, according to Board Chairman Mike Bossert. The United Health Care proposal is 1.6% less than what the county is currently paying. And the move is prompted by a Blue Cross proposal for a 6.8% increase.
