An early-morning house fire in Morocco, Indiana (Wednesday) left the structure destroyed. There was no injury. Morocco Fire Chief Corrie Myers is calling it a total loss.
Morocco Fire and the Indiana Stat5e Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
A 911 call just before 2 am indicated flames were visible from the Home at 301 W. Grove Street. When crews from Morocco and Brook-Iroquois Township volunteer fire departments arrived on scene, they found the home engulfed.
Nathan Banister was asleep inside. A smoke detector alerted him and he was able to get out without injury.
Firefighters had the blaze under control in under an hour and were able to protect nearby homes. The home is believed to be a total loss.
