Nicholson gets the nod for Kankakee County associate judge

Attorney Nancy A. Nicholson will serve the 21st Judicial Circuit as an Associate Judge.  She was elected by the seven circuit judges to fill the vacancy created when then-Associate Judge Bill Dickenson was elected a circuit judge last November. Nicholson will formally be sworn in Thursday, February 11 in a 4 pm ceremony at the Kankakee Courthouse. The 21st Judicial Circuit includes Kankakee and Iroquois counties.

Chief Judge Michael Kramer said "Nancy is an integral part of our legal community; well-respected in our area communities."  The 45-year-old Nicholson has been in the state’s attorney office since 2010., serving two stints as an assistant prosecutor. She has practiced law since 2004.
