Nine arrested in Kankakee County warrant sweep

Possession and delivery of controlled substances were among the charges against nine individuals after a warrant sweep (Thursday) in Kankakee County.  A KAMEG investigation brought several agencies together.  The suspects arrested were from Kankakee, Bradley and Pembroke Township.  One suspect, 20-year-old Lestat Sutherland of Pembroke Township, was charged with 2-counts of armed violence.  58-year-old Brian Collins of Kankakee was wanted on a warrant from Williamson County for possession and selling a stolen vehicle.

An Illinois State Police press release identifies the law enforcement agencies involved as:  ISP, KAMEG,U.S Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Kankakee and Manteno Police Departments, Kankakee County Sheriff's Department, Kankakee County Corrections,Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force, and the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office.
