Two men accused of stabbing and killing three people last week in Newton County, IN were in Superior Court Wednesday. Both men pleaded not guilty before Judge Dan Molter.
24-year-old Sebastian Wedding of Lake County, Indiana, and 24-year-old Derrick Cardosi of Sumava Resorts are each charged with three counts of murder, auto theft and theft.
The charges are connected to the deaths of 39-year-old Kimberly Spears, 23-year-old Richard Thomas, and 20-year-old Justin Babbs.
Both Wedding and Cardosi are being held in the Newton County Jail without bond.
The state requested a protection order for the body of Kimberly Spears. Prosecutors say there is reason to believe a bite mark on the left arm of one of the defendant’s could be useful evidence if a doctor could take an impression of Spears’ mouth. That protective order was granted and prosecution plans to wait until after the showing to examine Spears’ remains.
