NWS posts Winter Weather Advisory >

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the WGFA-WIBK listening area. The advisory is in effect tonight and thru Saturday afternoon. Starting off as rain, the system will bring snow that will be wet and heavy.

Accumulation amounts vary from 1-2 tonight, then 3-4 or 5-7 Saturday. Road conditions will change in a hurry. Easterly winds will be gusting to around 40 miles per hour at times.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for areas including Vermilion and Champaign Counties. A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for Iroquois and Ford and Kankakee counties in Illinois...along with Benton, Warren, Fountain, Vermillion and Parke counties in West Central Indiana.

Three to six inches of snow, with locally higher amounts, can be expected in those areas. A glaze of ice is also possible.

Motorists are advised to be ready for difficult travel conditions, with a significant reduction in visibility possible.
