NWS says prep for bitter cold, more snow

If the snow wasn't enough, new comes more snow and brutal cold temperatures.

The National Weather Service says very cold arctic air is moving into Illiana. And the weather won't be going away too soon either. Several more inches of snow is possible Saturday night into Sunday.

Tonight's lows are expected to be at -5 with wind chills at -15. Friday's high temps will only be 16 with a wind chill at -17. Westerly winds will reach 20 mph.

Snow fall amounts between Champaign and Kankakee range from 2.5 to over 5 inches in Kankakee. And additional snowfall could be 5-8 inches in the Champaign-Danville area.

Other reports call for may be another two inches.

More extreme cold weather is likely next week too.
