A man was killed, his rwo sons injured in a mid-morning crash (Wednesday) in Iroquois County.  73-year-old Simon Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was ejected from an SUV he was riding in with his sons. The two other men were treated for injuries at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee.  

Iroquois County Coroner Bill Cheatum said the SUV was northbound on 1500 E Road, failed to stop at a stop intersection and drove into the path of a westbound semi on Route 52.  The truck driver was also treated for injuries.

Ashkum Fire, Riverside Ambulance and Illinois State police answered the call about 10 am.  A state police reconstruction team was investigating.
