A mailman alerted emergency responders to a house fire in Onarga (Thursday). The fire at 206 E. Grant Street did extensive damage. No one was home at the time. No one was injured. The mail delivery man noticed smoke and the flames, calling 9-1-1. The cause was immediately determined.

Onarga Fire had mutual aid help from Gilman, the Iroquois-Ford/Thawville Department and Buckley.
