Opioid abuse subject of seminar in Kankakee County

The effects of the opioid epidemic in Kankakee County will be addressed today (Thursday) at a seminar at Bradley-Bourbonnais High School.  The 6 pm education program will include several speakers.  A question-and-answer period will follow.

Meanwhile--Indiana is now added to the list of states suing a maker of opioid pain pills.  Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Purdue Pharma.  Hill blames the company for the 90,000 people in Indiana who he says are battling an opioid addiction.  Dozens of otzher states across the country are also suingthe comapnies that made and sold opioid pills.
