OSHA investigates electrocution death of highway worker in McLean County

The apparent electrocution death of a McLean County Highway Department employee has the attention of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). 41-year-old Scott Bundy of Bloomington was identified as the county employee who suffered the apparent electrocution in rural Hudson Wednesday. McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder said Bundy was a long-time employee and considered a valuable member of the highway department.
A second worker was involved in the incident and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Emergency radio traffic Wednesday indicated the incident occurred near the intersection of 2250 N and 1200 E. Details were not provided.

McLean County Administrator Camille Rodriguez issued a press release saying supportive services are being offered to all highway department workers.

The release said McLean County is cooperating with the Illinois Department of Labor OHSA Division’s investigation.
