Pandemic cancels summer events, again

The once-every-five-years celebrations in Iroquois County are being canceled for a second straight year due to the Pandemic.  Crescent City's Fireball Festival and the Old Boys & Girls Reunion at Gilman are scratched from the 2021 calendar.  Both events had been re-scheduled after being canceled last year.  Now, respective committees have made the difficult decision to call off this year's plans.  The challenges of navigating the pandemic are the reasons.

The committees will now focus on 2025 with possible smaller-scale events to fundraise.  The two summer events are held every five-years.  The Fireball Festival remembers the Father's Day train wreck and explosion from 1970.  The Old Boys & Girls Reunion at Gilman brings the gangs together in August.
