Felony charges are now on file against a 25-year-old rural Paxton man charged in a fatal crash that took the life of a 19-year-old woman. The two-vehicle crash in Ford County August 1 killed a Kourtni “Suzy” Eastman.

Thomas Hoeskstra has been charged with reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.
Illinois State Police reported Hoekstra had a blood-alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08 — when blood and urine samples were provided voluntarily by Hoekstra following the accident.

It happened on route 45 and Ford County Road 200. Police said Hoekstra crossed the centerline and hit the car Eastman was a passemnger in broadside. Three others with Eastman were also injured.
