Paxton murder trial set for October

The 2013 stabbing death of a Paxton man outside a Paxton tavern finds the defendant facing an October 14th trial date.


34-year-old Sean Kelley is charged with second-degree murder for the death of 49-year-old Jeffrey Potts. Prosecutors expect Kelley to use self-defense in what's expected to be a three-day trial. A conviction could bring a 15-year prison term.


Kelley is free on a $25,000 bond. The incident took place last October 17th in downtown Paxton.
