A 71-year-old rural Clifton resident died of injuries (Friday) after being struck by a pick-up truck on South Main Street in Clifton.

Arlen Bertrand died at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee.
Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated. Based on the driver of the pickup’s accounts and witnesses, no citations were issued.

Sheriff’s Police were called to the 400-block of South Main at about 5 pm. 61-year-old William Wulffe of Chebanse was northbound. Bertrand was hit by the pickup. He was transported to Riverside having suffered life-threatening injuries.

Chebanse Township Fire and Riverside EMS also responded to the scene.
