Pembroke man guilty of murder

A Kankakee County jury (Friday) returned a guilty verdict for murder against a Pembroke Township man. 58-year-old James Beals was convicted for the shooting death of 46-year-old Ralph Ledet, also of Pembroke Township. The victim was found dead October 1, 2016. He’d been shot twice in the head, according to police reports.

State’s Attorney Jim Rowe said the case involved some good police work and cooperation. Beals could be facing life in prison.
