Perzee endorsed to succeed Hagen in Sheriff’s Office

Veteran Sheriff Deputy Clint Perzee has his eye on becoming the next sheriff in Iroquois County.  And the County Board has endorsed Perzee's bid by naming him to serve as sheriff, effective October 1, 2021.  Perzee will will a vacancy when current-Sheriff  Derek Hagen steps aside September 30.  Hagen is leaving office to pursue a new career opportunity.   Perzee will fill the vacancy for the next 14 months.

(Tuesday), Perzee received the blessing of the County Board.  A resolution recognized Hagen's law enforcement career and appointed Perzee to fill the unexpired term.

                                                 ---   Paxton Police Officer announces for Ford County Sheriff  ---

An active member of the Paxton City Police Department plans to seek the office of Sheriff in Ford County.  52-year-old Chad Johnson has been with the police department since 2006.  Prior to that, he was a Correctional Officer at the Ford County Jail.  

Sheriff Mark Doran has announced he does not plan to seek another term in 2022.  Doran has served as sheriff the last 16 years.
