Candidates seeking positions next Spring at the local level begin filing petitions TODAY (Tuesday, November 12). The filing period runs from 8 am November 12 until the close of business on Monday, November 18. (Some election offices are open until 5 pm November 18th.
THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION IS APRIL 1, 2025.
Consolidated Election packets candidates picked up earlier to circulate are to be turned in at your respective City/Village Election Clerks OR if your area has a Board of Election Commissioner’s Office. In Watseka – Candidates for respective seats must file with the City Clerk at City Hall. Clerk Amanda Hibbs will accept petition filings (Tuesday) from 4 – 6 pm.
County School Board members & Multi-Township Assessors should note --- Iroquois County Clerk Breein Suver’s office begins accepting petitions (Tuesday) from 8:30 am ‘til 4:30 pm.
Petition Packets contain the needed info for instructions on who you submit your info to and which office. The candidate is responsible for obtaining enuf required signatures, filing a statement of candidacy, loyalty oath and that Statement of Economic Interest. Each candidate must file a statement of Economic Interest Form in the Office of County Clerk, and the candidate’s receipt MUST be filed with their petition papers by the last day of filing (November 18).
