Pilot makes emergency landing in Indiana

No injury to report after a plane made an emergency landing Sunday evening in Lafayette, IN. The pilot, from New Richmond, IN was the lone person onboard. He made the emergency landing at the Purdue University Airport. It was the rainy weather that forced him to have second thoughts about heading to Kentland (IN).

Travis Pulley of New Richmond was the pilot on board. He said he took off from Lafayette Sunday and meant to head for Kentland. When he realized the weather was "kind of crummy" he headed back to the Purdue University Airport. As he was calling air traffic control, his engine cut out.  A news release sent by the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's office said it is "presently unknown" what caused the plane to have difficulties and cause the emergency landing.
