Piper City: Service dog missing following traffic accident

Piper City Fire needs help locating a dog that went missing around 11 pm Sunday after the dog’s owner was involved in an accident. Piper City Fire Chief Tony Lane said the accident happened 2 miles south of Piper City near Route 115 and 2200 N Road.

Saba is a service-dog. She’s a 6-month-old black Goldendoodle, was wearing a peach-colored collar, a pink easy-walk harness and a red leash. She’s a medium-sized dog and obviously, in unfamiliar territory. Anyone locating the dog is asked to contact Chief Lane at 815-674-0204.

The dog’s owner, a student, was on her way back to the U of I. She was treated at a hospital for a minor injury.
