The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office and the Clifton Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at the Dollar General in Clifton. According to police, around 4:30pm an unidentified white male entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading northbound on Interstate 57 driving a copper colored SUV. At this time, no arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Clifton Police Department.
