A 27-year-old man is under arrest after an overnight police stand-off in Hoopeston ended peacefully early today (Tuesday). Apolinar Solis Jr. faces child endangerment charges.

Hoopeston Police report officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Dice Street shortly before 8:30 last night regarding a Facebook post stating a subject was threatening to hurt himself and his children.

Solis refused to come out of the home when requested by officers to do so. Other officers responded to the scene, including the Special Operations Group from the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department. Solis surrendered to authorities about 3:30 this morning.
