Polls open in Kankakee for Primary Election

Mayors contests, aldermanic races and a contested race for City Clerk are matters on the ballots today (Tuesday) in Kankakee.  The city's primary election welcomes voters.  Polls ar open 'til 7 pm.

Incumbent Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong is challenged by Kankakee school board member Angela Shea on the Democratic ballot.  Republicans seeking the mayor's office are Alderman Chris Curtis and Park District board member J.J. Hollis.  The winners meet in the April 6 Election.

The other contests are on the Democratic ticket.  Stacy Gall and Lashaan Lott seek the City Clerk job.  The wnd Ward aldedrman's race is David Baron and Lisa Richardson squaring off.  For the 6th Ward seat, Kelly Johnson and Yaquantis Adams are on the ballot.
