Pontiac attorney Sarah Duffy has been selected to serve as associate judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit.
Duffy is with the law firm Fellheimer Law Firm Ltd. And was selected by the judges of the circuit, according to the announcement issued Thursday by Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.
Duffy was chosen from among 15 candidates to fill the first of what is expected to be three openings for associate judge positions in the circuit that serves Ford, Livingston, Logan, McLean and Woodford counties.
The vacancy was created by the appointment of Associate Judge William Yoder to replace Chief Judge Kevin Fitzgerald, who retired July 6. Yoder is running unopposed for circuit judge in November.
The field of attorneys for the associate judge position that comes with a salary of $188,000 includes three women: Duffy, Kristin Alferink and Jennifer Patton.
Other candidates were Matthew Koetters, Andrew J. Lankton, Adrian Barr, Joseph Foley, Scott Kording, Ronald Lewis, Craig Queen, Scott Black, Brian Gabor, David Koth, Todd Miller and Kevin Sanborn.
