The Livingston County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a Pontiac police officer who was killed in a crash along Interstate 55 Wednesday night.

Reports say an accident near a ramp on Interstate 55 led to the officer's death. The name has not yet been released.

Few details are available, so it's not known if last night's weather played a role in the accident.

Livingston County Coroner Mike Burke and the State Police are handling the investigation.
