Prairieview Lutheran Homes to create Development Council

Prairieview Lutheran Homes of Danforth is creating the Prairieview Development Council witha goal of increasing community engagement, volunteerism and financial support for its residents.  Volunteers will make up the Development Council.

Prairieview CEO Jeff Petersen said "the organization was founded by volunteers who believed in the idea of faith-based skilled nursing care and saw the need in Iroquois and Kankakee Counties, and the surroundign area."

Prairieview was started on donations from area churches, businesses and individuals.  The Council, Petersen explains, is our commitment to providing the highest-level of care for decades to come.

Founded in 1974, Prairieview began as a skilled-care nursing home.  It's grown to include independent and assisted-living residences at Luther Place, with dementia care.  There's also senior duplexes at Prairie Haven in Buckley.
