The board of trustees of Presence St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is pleased to honor Sharon M. Jackson as the recipient of the 2013 Servant Leader of the Year award. A recognition dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the Kankakee Country Club.

In selecting Jackson for this award, the board of trustees cited her leadership in advancing the philanthropic growth, culture, and integrity of the Kankakee area.

Jackson has served as the director of fund-raising and special events at Bishop McNamara Catholic High School since 1985. During that time, she initiated several student service groups and began the annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the community. In addition, she has overseen many annual fund-raising auctions for the school and re-launched the Irish Alumni Association and Ceile calendar project.

Over the years, Jackson has served on the board of Catholic Charities. Currently, she is a member of the Aquinas School Board. She is a charter member of St. Teresa Church in Kankakee.
