The Prospect bank is steppin' up ! The Prospect bank, a division of Edgar County Bank & Trust Company, has announced an acquisition. That brings to nine, the number of locations serving customers in east-central Illinois.

Edgar County Banc Shares, Inc...the parent company of Edgar County Bank & Trust, recently acquired Sidell State Bank.

Effective last Friday (August 14), Sidell State Bank merged into Edgar's current subsidiary bank, The Edgar County Bank & Trust Company of Paris, Illinois. The Sidell State Bank will now operate under the name Prospect Bank of Homer and Sidell. All Sidell employees will continue. The merger, according to a news release from Edgar County Banc Shares, INC, results in a combined organization with over $400 million in assets that will continue serving customers from all current locations.

Among the Prospect Bank full-service locations are: Gilman, Watseka, Homer, Champaign and Paris.
