Pat Gorecki, who was once accused of running a puppy mill in St. Anne, is being accused of running a similar operation in Newton County, Indiana.

It’s the second time in two years such charges have been filed.

Sheriff's deputies and an animal control officer, last month (April), confiscated 14 dogs from Gorecki's home located in rural Lake Village. That’s just a few miles east of where she ran her local operation in 2015.

In 2010, Gorecki's rural St. Anne facility was raided by Cook County Sheriff's Animal Crimes Unit, along with the South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights.

More than 50 dogs were removed, but the Kankakee County State's Attorney at the time, Jamie Boyd, said he didn't have enough evidence to prosecute her.

Gorecki sued to get the dogs back but all had been adopted.
Patrick Ryan, an attorney for Newton County in its civil matters, said an anonymous tip led him to obtain an emergency inspection warrant for Gorecki's residence located at 7887 N. Meridian Road.

Gorecki will be in court May 10 facing forfeiture of the dogs and contempt charges.

As part of the judge's order in the 2015 case, Gorecki is prohibited from owning or possessing any dogs in Newton County.
