Rainfall amounts exceed 10 inches

The Iroquois River and Sugar Creek at Milford and Watseka will be monitored for a few days following excessive rainfall over the weekend.  Flooding concerns are obvious after 10 plus inches of rain fell in the last four days.  More showers and T-storms are in the forecast this week, some rains may produce heavy amounts.

The NWS reports flooding issues may worsen with more rain.  WGFA Heritage FS weather observers checked with rain totald from last Thursday thru Sunday.  Ashkum reports 6.83 inches, Clifton and Chebanse 4.5, Cissna Park 3.70, Buckley 2.52, Chatsworth 5.3, Emington 8.3, Melvin 3.67, Gibson City 4.5, Champaign 4.75, Buckingham 6.5, Hoopeston 5.56 and Georgetown 4.3.

Funnel clouds were reported over Danforth, Chatsworth, Downs and in western parts of Kankakee County.  The NWS also confirms EF0 and EF1 tornadoes in Nw and west-central Indiana.
