The American Red Cross encourages donars to make an appointment to give blood and help save lives.  It's in honor of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The local and global impact of the Red Cross mission is celebrated May 8. 

Local blood drives are scheduled today (Tuesday) in Dwight at St. Patrick's Catholic Church 12:30 'til 5:30 pm.  Manteno welcomes donars Wednesday (5/4) from 2-6 pm at the United Methodist Church.  In Bourbonnais Thursday (5/5) a blood drive is at the Blood Donation Center 12 Noon 'til 6 pm.

Ford County has a blood drive Friday (5/6) from 9 am 'til 2 pm at the GCMS High School in Gibson City.

Also in Kankakee County...Manteno has a scheduled drive Saturday (5/7) at the Christian Church of manteno from 9 am to 1 pm.
