Rensselaer, IN voters elect a new mayor

Four-term Mayor Steve Wood has been ousted by voters in Rensselaer, IN.   Voters favored Jeff Phillips in Tuesday's Election.  Phillips, a former police chief and GOP Chairman in Jasper County, received 74% of the vote.  Steve Wood had served as mayor for 16 years.

In Lowell, IN ... Clerk-Treasurer Jill Murr was the Republican winner over Democrat Elaine Anderson.  For the Lowell Town Council seats, Michael Gruszka, John Alessia Jr. and John Yelkich Jr. retained their seats.  Republican Richard Shapiro will become a new judge.

At Schneider, IN ... GOP candidate Jenny Beier was a winner.  She was the lone candidate for Clerk-Treasurer.   At-large Town Council winenrs were Crista Stavros, Kevin Gray and David Harris. 

In Cedar Lake, IN ... former Republican Councilman Greg Parker reclaimed his seat on the Town Board, winning this time as an Independent. 

West Lafayette, IN voters had choices for at-large City Council seats.  Iris O'Donnell Ballisario, James Blanco and David Sanders were declared winners

Also in West Lafayette ---  voters approved a school referendum to cover wages, salaries, benefits, transportation and custodial costs.

School referendums were defeated in Hammond, Whiting and Lake Station.
