Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal crash Thursday on U.S. 52.

According to Lafayette police, 43-year-oldm Lisa Ison of Rensselaer was northbound near the 3300 block of U.S. 52. Her vehicle veered off the roadway, hit a tree and caught fire.

Police reported a witness dragged Ison from the vehicle.
Ison was transported to an area hospital by ambulance and was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled.
