Reorganize: County Boards set up for new year, office-holders prep for oath

Newly elected county officials are set for their swearing-in events this next week. Mondays marks the start and re-direction for winners in the recent election.

Circuit judges will swear-in county-wide office-holders at 9 am Monday. Courtrooms are the usual settings for the oaths of office. The Iroquois County Board will meet to reorganize, select a new chairman and vice chairman, and swear in new members on Monday afternoon.

The meeting will be at 5 pm in the County Board Room at the Administrative Center.

Elected officials beginning 4-year terms include are: Sheriff Derek Hagen, County Clerk Lisa Fancher and newly-elected Treasurer Kurt Albers.

County Board members elected are: District I Lyle Behrends, Leanne Duby, Paul Ducat; District II John Shure, Steve Huse; District III Joe Young, Donna Crow, Paul Bowers; and District IV John Zumwalt, Roger Bard.

Vermilion County swearing-in event ---

Newly elected Vermilion County officials will be taking their oaths Monday.

The officials to be sworn in include: Sheriff Pat Hartshorn, Cathey Jenkins, County Clerk; County Treasurer Darren Duncan; Supervisor of Assessments Mathew Long; Board of Review member Robert Huffman;
Board of Review member Amanda Shepherd; Board of Review member Jay Fruling; Regional Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Reifsteck.

Vermilion County Board members newly elected will be sworn in at 6 pm Monday in the County Board chambers. The ceremony will be at the Vermilion County Administration Building in Danville.
