Rep. Pam Roth stepping down from Illinois House seat

Another political figure is stepping aside. State Representative Pam Roth announced today (Wed) she's resigning from the state legislature.

The Morris Republican is moving to Texas with her family.

Roth said her husband has been offered an employment transfer that's too good to pass up.

The Republican party will choose a successor.

Roth was appointed to her seat in January 2011 after state Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, moved to the Senate shortly after defeating former state Rep. Careen Gordon.

Roth won re-election in November of 2012.
