Nuisance and safety concerns are reasons residents of a Bourbonnais motel are being forced to find a new place to call home.
The Daily-Journal reports about a 100 people live in what was once a Motel 6 along Illinois Route 50.
Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe has fielded questions about the closure. He says action is being taken by the county administration based on what the Journal calls ‘the property site being a nuisance.‘ Rowe said the property has taxed law enforcement resources far too much, for far too long.”
No timetable was given as to when the residents needed to vacate the building.
