Rev. Neil Larimore to serve as grand marshal for Milford Christmas Parade

Thirty entries have been confirmed with additional entries still coming in for Sunday’s Christmas Parade in Milford. The parade steps off at 6 pm.

The Reverend Neil Larimore, long-time pastor of the Milford Christian Church will serve as the parade grand marshal.

Penny Cheever is one of the parade’s committee members. She says this may be a first-ever Christmas Parade in Milford.

Entries will continue to be accepted until 5:45 pm the day of the parade on November 27. Final registration for parade entries will be near the police station starting at 5 pm with line-up forming in the post office parking lot. There is no registration fee, however, donations will be accepted to help defray parade expenses.

The Parade route will be the same used at Fun Days. It will start promptly at 6 pm at the post office parking lot and continue west on Jones Street ending at the Milford High School parking lot.

Business owner Karen Brasel (The Hangout) will announce the parade to spectators along the route.

Entries include school and church groups, local businesses, and Santa Claus! The Milford HS Cheerleaders will have a cookie and hot cocoa stand uptown. Our Savior Lutheran Church will have a food tent serving hot cocoa, coffee and snacks in the church’s front yard.

To demonstrate the holiday spirit of giving, parade participants and viewers are asked to donate a can good or other non-perishable item to the local food pantry. Boxes will be available in front of the food pantry to aid in the collection process.

After the parade, Santa will greet little ones of all ages at Imagine through 8:00 p.m. Remember to bring your camera to capture those moments with Santa.
