River Valley Metro continues to grow to meet the needs of their passengers. On July 8th, Metro kicked off their newest fixed route, Route 12 The North South Connector. The North South Connector will travel from St. Vincent DePaul Transfer Centre in Bradley to exit 308 in Kankakee. This hour long route will run on Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm. This route was developed to relieve two of Metro’s busiest routes; Route 1 Meadowview and Route 6 KCC.

This allows Metro to have more frequent stops at many of their most popular destinations. Some of these destinations are Ultra Foods, Azzarelli Towers, Kankakee Kommons and Walgreens on Kennedy Drive. The southern section of the route serves Walgreens on W. Court, Jewel and Dollar General on Washington, KCC, Wal-Mart and Shapiro, to name just a few. This new route also serves St. Vincent DePaul and Chestnut and N. Schuyler transfer centers.
