River Valley Metro Mass Transit District began providing bus service in the Kankakee metro area in 1999. Today, RVW operate twelve local routes and three commuter routes seven days a week, providing nearly one million rides each year.

To mark ITS fifteenth year of service, an anniversary celebration at the Bourbonnais Metro Centre is today (Friday), August 15th, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

An evening of fun includes
• Cruise-in car show. Car clubs and individuals with special cars are welcome.
• Photo art exhibit and sale hosted by the Kankakee Camera Club.
• Food vendors

Ample parking is available in the East parking lot at Cigna, just off Rt. 45 on St. George Road. Shuttle busses to the Metro Centre will run continuously throughout the event.
