The summer season officially ended with the Labor Day weekend, but several summer road construction projects continue. Included is the Illinois Route 1 bridge replacement north of Watseka. Traffic flow is limited to a single lane, controlled by a signal light.
Construction work on Route 52 and Route 1 in Iroquois County is scheduled to begin next week on September 14th.
In Kankakee County, construction is getting started on I-57 at the County Road 6000 interchange.
Railroad repair work is also beginning today (Monday) on West Station Street at the Canadian National Railroad crossing. The crossing will be closed for the next week while crews replace the grade-crossing. Work is expected to be completed by September 15th.
