The Illinois Department of Transportation announced capital investments of more than $4.2 million for construction projects in Kankakee County.

Work will completed on Illinois Route 1/17 from Route 114 at the State Line west to Grant Park at Routes 1/17. Milling, aggregate shoulders, sidewalk ramp updates are part of the scheduled work detail. The cost is listed at $2,369,

Work in the Manteno area will cost $1,879,182 on Illinois Route 50. Just under four miles of milling and resurfacing will be completed from north of St. George Road to north of 6th Street in Manteno.

The projects are part of the $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which is the largest construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest construction programs in the nation.
