Roselawn bank robbed, police seek suspect

The FBI is working with the Newton County, IN sheriff's department in the investigation of a bank robbery Friday in Roselawn. The DeMotte State Bank at Roselawn was robbed just before 2:30 pm.

There was no injury. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. Sheriff's Police have posted information. Authorities are looking for a Hispanic male, possibly in his late 20's, about 6 feet tall, and some facial hair. The man was dressed in black, wore black gloves, and a black sock-style hat.

Sheriff Tom VanVleet commended the actions of bank employees, saying they did their job well, remaining calm and gathering details. The sheriff said authorities have great leads to work on.

A suspect vehicle is described as a silver or gray Oldsmobile 4-door passenger car with a partial Illinois plate K 46.
