A weekend crash injured an Alvin woman and a 16-year-old girl. Vermilion County Sheriff's Police investigated Saturday southeast of Rossville.
Eighteen-year-old Rachael Link of Alvin was one of two passengers in a van. She was listed in 'Fair' condition at Carle Hospital Monday afternoon. No information was available on the condition of the 16-year-old girl who was also hospitalized.
Police reported both were passengers in the van being operated by 19-year-old William Drake of Rossville. He was released following treatment at Carle Foundation Hospital.
The van was traveling along County Road 1700 East when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the road, hitting some trees. Both victims were thrown out of the vehicle.
Drake was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
