Work on Illinois 1 in Kankakee County underway

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced work is underway on Illinois 1 in Kankakee County. The work zone is from the Will County line to Illinois 17 in Grant Park.
Work will consist of pavement patching and resurfacing. There will be daily lane closures controlled by flaggers during the $1.9 million project, which is expected to be completed in September.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zone areas, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
