The Union Pacific Railroad is making repairs to area crossings beginning today (Monday) in Watseka and then in Dwight next Monday. Motorists should be aware of posted detours that may add some time to regular routes. llinois Department of Transportation announced that the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing at Route 1/24 in Watseka will be about a five day process. The Walnut Street crossing in downtown Watseka will be closed to through traffic.
Route 47 in Dwight will be closed beginning at 7 pm Monday, April 29th. The crossing is located between McNamara Avenue and North Street. The repairs are expected to take four days to complete. A posted detour will direct drivers to use Old Route 66 and Route 17. Drivers can expect and should allow extra time when driving in these areas.
