Four people were injured Friday night in a crash on Illinois Route 1 in Vermilion County. Route 1 between Westville and Georgetown was closed while emergency personnel handled the situation.

State police provided initial reports of a car and a truck involved. One person was pinned beneath one of the vehicles.

Two of the injured people were air-lifted from the scene by helicopters. The injured went to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Names of those hurt were not immediately available.

Emergency personnel on the scene included Westville and Georgetown Firemen and Georgetown and Tilton Ambulance personnel.
