RVM's Rob Hoffmann eyes retirement

He thought it may be a two-year stint.  But all told, it's been a pleasant 16 years.  And he's loved it all.

Rob Hoffmann plans to step aside from his career as executive director of River Valley Metro Mass Transit.  Hoffman's pending retirement is June 30, 2020.  The Kankakee Valley area's bus service has served as a transportation leader and the business, itself, Hoffmann says, is proud of the accomplishments. Hoffmann's managing has taken the bus systme sto many new levels, including expanded bus routes and service to even the Chicago airports. It's been described as 'incredible expansion,' and it's destined to get even better, Hoffmann says.

Metro numbers show ridership on the buses has grown to 4.1 million since 2014.  It's an 11-route, seven-day-a-week bus system.  RVM is now boasting more than 600,000 riders annually.  Hoffmann says we accomodate everyday workers, students, job seekers."We have become trully a regional transportation service for so many people." 

Hoffmann is proud of the growth and so proud of the many employees who are dedicated to good, quality service. When he retired, Rob Hoffmann will have spent 37 years in public transportastion.
