The Canadian National/Illinois Central Railroad's Annual Santa Train passed thru and stopped in several area communities Saturday and Sunday.

Quite a few children visited with Santa during stops Saturday in Gilman, Thawville, Roberts, Melvin and Gibson City. Sunday's stops were in Onarga, Danforth, Ashkum, Clifton and Chebanse.

Gilman also officially lit up its Christmas tree to set the mood for the season. The Iroquois West High School band provided holiday entertainment for the weekend occasion.... the "Light up Your Heart for Christmas" activity.
